The popularity of poker amongst enthusiasts, even for small tournaments is considerable. In the Dronne-Riberac area, local tournaments are not enough for players anymore. According to Jean Luc Delugin, president founder of the Riberac Poker Club and organizer of the first poker championship in Dordogne, in the meetings he holds, he finds himself obliged to refuse some players because of the lack of space, as it was the case during the fourth stage of the Dronne-Riberac area in Brantome. Through its 15 tournaments throughout the year, over 300 to 400 players join the meetings.



On the occasion of the 18th edition of the Hippo Expo, a poker meeting that will take place at the Marsac’s exhibition centre, maxi-tables have been prepared for 210 players. For the town, it is a first at the Country Expo 2009. Moreover, this enthusiasm for poker affects not only men but also women. This also explains the fact that poker is still attracting more players, forcing organizers to multiply poker tournaments. On its side, the Riberac Poker Club already has a busy schedule.
